Dr. Mark
Turpin Stoffregen is a seventh generation resident of Anderson Township
and is a direct descendant of Philip Turpin for whom Turpin High School
is named. Dr. Stoffregen graduated from Cincinnati's Woodward High School
in 1965. He studied biology at Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio and graduated
in 1969. While teaching seventh through ninth grade science in the Cincinnati
Public Schools, he earned a Masters Degree in Secondary School Administration
from the University of Cincinnati in 1972, was inducted into Phi Delta Kappa
education honorary, and earned a Third Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
He attended Miami University on a National Science Foundation Scholarship
and earned a Masters Degree in Zoology in 1974 while attending to his duties
as the head resident of a residence hall. Following graduation, he took
a position as regional sales manager for Swift Microscopes Inc. and covered
a seven- state territory. He attended dental school at The Ohio State University
during the time when four academic years were accelerated into three calendar
years. Following graduation in 1979, he spent a year as a general dentistry
resident at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio. He began private
practice on March 10, 1981 during which time he also served as the Director
of the Clermont County Children' s Dental Services for six years. He now
devotes his time and energy to caring for his patients.
Dr. Stoffregen
became a member of the Academy of General Dentistry during his residency,
and continued his quest for clinical excellence by earning first a Fellowship
after 600 hours of education and all-day examination, and then as one of
the very first dentists in Ohio to receive a Mastership from the Academy
after 1700 hours of education. He attends courses to constantly learn the
newest techniques in the science and art of dentistry, and has now accumulated
over 2900 hours since graduation.
Mrs. Joan
Stoffregen shares our office and is also an active member of Dr. Stoffregen's
dental team, serving as bookkeeper and in many other supportive roles. Joan
earned both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in human nutrition and
food management from The Ohio State University. She is a community nutritionist,
offering education on healthy menu planning and cooking techniques, and
practical ways to support optimal normal nutrition and wellness throughout
the lifecycle.
Dr. and Mrs. Stoffregen have two children. Craig graduated from Miami University and then completed a Master of Science degree in criminal justice at Xavier University. Amy graduated from The Ohio State University, and then completed a Master of Science degree in nursing at The University of Pennsylvania to become a certified nurse practitioner of women's health.
Dr. Stoffregen's hobbies include hiking, travel, and skeet/sporting clays. His lifetime goal is to attain 100 straight in all four gauges of American skeet, having already shot 100 straight in 12 gauge. He is also a student of classical piano.
